Island Gigs (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Island Gigs mobile and web applications. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.
Information We Collect
- Personal Information: When you sign in using Google or other authentication providers, we may collect your name, email address, and profile picture.
- Usage Data: We may collect information about how you interact with the app, such as pages visited, features used, and session duration.
- App Measurement: When you install and open the Island Gigs app, we record that the app was installed and opened, together with technical details such as device model, operating system version, language, time zone and screen size, and an identifier generated by the app. These records do not include your name, email address, profile or messages.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate and manage your account.
- Provide and improve our services.
- Communicate with you about your account and our services.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data only with service providers that help us operate the service, comply with the law, or protect our legal rights.
The app-measurement records described above are shared with Meta Platforms so we can measure how well our advertising works. On iPhone (from app version 4.9) this happens through Meta's software development kit (SDK) inside the app; on Android, and on older iPhone versions, through our own servers, together with your IP address and, on Android, the store's install-referrer information. On iPhone, Meta also receives your device's advertising identifier, but only if you tap "Allow" when the app asks for permission to track. You can change that choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; refusing does not affect how the app works. We never send your name, email address, password, profile or messages to Meta for this purpose.
If you reach the Island Gigs website by clicking one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram and then tap the App Store or Google Play button, our servers tell Meta Platforms about that tap, so we can measure how well the ad worked. This report contains the click identifier Meta added to the ad link, the page address, your IP address, your browser's user-agent and which store button you tapped. Visitors who did not arrive from a Meta ad are not reported. The website does not use the Meta Pixel or any Meta cookies, and nothing you type on the website is sent to Meta. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
